Swimming in Lake Fuschl in the Salzkammergut region
Holidays at Lake Fuschl – swimming & relaxing
Outings to Lake Fuschl are popular pastimes for families in Salzburg. Its clear turquoise waters attract pleasure seekers of all ages to its banks. With a depth of up to 66 metres, the lake boasts outstanding water quality. Its cool waters offer swimmers, hikers and cyclists the refreshment they need on hot summer days. Open to the public, there are four natural beaches to relax by the waters of the lake: one in Hof bei Salzburg, a swimming area in Wesenau, another in Stölling and the natural Fuschlseebad lido.
Unbeatable fun at the Fuschlseebad lido
Featuring a giant slide, a sandy bay for kids, a climbing tower, beach volleyball, crazy golf, hockey and tennis courts, the Fuschlseebad lido has plenty to offer. Surfboards, kayaks, roller blades, bikes and walking poles are also available for guests to hire and enjoy a varied range of leisure pursuits. Aside from access to the lake, the modern beachside lido has small paddling pools and a full-size swimming pool. Guests enjoy stunning views of the mountains and the lake from the sunny and shady lawns.
The insider tip: Natural beach in Hof bei Salzburg
The natural beach in Hof Bei Salzburg promises a little less action, but is just a short stroll from the Arabella Jagdhof Resort. It is considered one of the most delightful spots around Lake Fuschl. The long wooden jetty with sunbathing platform is particularly popular among bathers and is often used as a backdrop for holiday snapshots. The public beach also has an expansive lawn for sunbathing, two beach volleyball courts and beach bar serving drinks, ice cream and warm snacks to bridge the gaps between meals.
